Our minister
Our minister is Rev Kate Whyman. Kate took up her post in October 2014.
She discovered Unitarianism through a chance encounter while travelling in New Zealand in 1999. On her return, she sought out her local Unitarian Church in Brighton and immediately felt at home. She soon became a member, was then encouraged on to the committee, and eventually found herself being Chair. In 2012 she began her ministry training at Harris Manchester College Oxford and Heythrop College London.
Kate has had a varied career in teaching, educational publishing and arts PR. She also founded and ran Brighton Festival of World Sacred Music from 2004 to 2012.
She is a member of Plymouth Council of Faiths.
Please contact Kate if you would like to know more about Unitarians, or wish to discuss weddings, funerals, child namings or other rites of passage.
