Cullompton Unitarians are a small, friendly, open-minded and warm-hearted spiritual community. We meet on the first Sunday of each month in the beautiful and historic Pound Square Unitarian Chapel.
We have no specific creed or dogma, but rather believe that religion is wider than any one sect and deeper than any one set of opinions. We aim to encourage everyone to find their best path through life.
People of all ages are welcome, including families with children. And we celebrate diversity of ability, class, gender, race and sexuality, as well as a broad range of personal beliefs, from theism to atheism.
We gather in the chapel at 3pm on the first Sunday of each month.
Our services are led by our minister Rev Kate Whyman and other visiting ministers and lay leaders. We draw on wisdom from a wide range of sources including all the major faith traditions, nature, literature and science. There is usually music and singing, prayer and reflection, and an address, though sometimes we meet ‘in the round’ and share contributions on a theme. After each service we enjoy tea, coffee and conversation together.
Weddings, blessings and funerals
The chapel provides an intimate space for rites of passage. We can help you design a ceremony that reflects the values and beliefs of you and your loved ones, and we welcome enquiries from mixed as well as same sex couples.
